Description

Hello,
I am trying to compile debwrt for x86 machine. it usualy fails when trying to download hotplug2 from "http://svn.nomi.cz" site. i by passed it by editing the .config file but then i got stuck with build-essentials-cross package from debian repo.
my questions would be : do you have a compiled version for x86 ?
and : if not is there any tutorial conversion openwrt to debwrt?

Hi, why not installing Debian x86 directly on your machine? DebWrt basically is Debian, only with a OpenWrt Linux kernel.

Hi Amain,

i have micro computer with x86. i am using it with openwrt as a router. I have luci that is great addon for anyone who is not friendly with terminal. but if i would wish to develop anything on it, i'll need to cross compile it( which isn't best choice) and in addition there aren't many engines (mongodb, nodejs and so on) to run additional application besides luci.

Hi, I can relate to that. In the end I choose to use PHP (which is available for MIPS and ARM) as backend in combination with AngularJS to write some applications for embedded devices. NodeJS would have been very nice, but still no MIPS port for it. Since your microboard is x86, I can imagine that the/a Debian Linux kernel will just work on it. Or does it have very specific hardware in it?
